Whether calculating the date when a client may retire, determining the feasibility of a client leaving an end-of-life bequest, or figuring out how much one needs to save for college, financial practitioners are utilizing time value of money concepts. Even though these concepts are pervasive in nearly everything a financial professional does, many do not feel comfortable with the mechanics or theory behind these calculations. Utilizing real world financial planning examples, this course will explore time value of money concepts. We will discuss the theory and mechanics behind common valuation models and utilize them in a unique application of the time value of money - figuring out the value of a business.

David was also a co-author of the 2018, 2019, and 2020 Virginia CPA Ethics courses - a required course for all CPA's licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
