Help Strengthen the CPA Pipeline in Iowa

The accounting profession is at a critical crossroads. Fewer students are pursuing accounting degrees, and the talent shortage continues to grow. The Iowa Society of CPAs (ISCPA) is taking action—and we invite you to be part of the solution.

ISCPA is leading the charge to attract and support the next generation of CPAs through targeted pipeline initiatives across the state. Your support will help us expand our reach and impact.

Our Ongoing Efforts Include:

Engaging over 2,100 high school students and educators in 2024 through the Accounting Opportunities Experience and our annual High School Case Competition, with participation from 11 schools statewide.

Visiting 12 two- and four-year colleges to present in classrooms and student clubs.

Raising awareness among educators at events like the Iowa Business Educators Association (IBEA) conferences and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) programs at both high school and college levels.

Providing students and graduates with resources to guide them on their CPA journey.

Advocating for policy change to introduce a third pathway to CPA licensure.

ISCPA-backed legislation passed unanimously in both the Iowa House and Senate and the bill awaits the Governor's signature.
