Overview
Relationships with our state and local elected officials are fundamental to ISCPA's advocacy efforts, and the Iowa CPA Day at the Capitol is a unique opportunity all members to engage with Iowa lawmakers, gain insights into their decision-making process, and help state legislators understand the issues facing CPAs in Iowa
The profession is facing a shortage of accountants and CPAs with a declining pipeline of students entering the field. ISCPA members have begun talking with legislators about alternative pathways to CPA licensure to ensure they were aware of the issue and actions in other states. ISCPA is currently pursuing legislation to enable future CPA candidates to be licensed in Iowa upon earning a bachelor’s degree with required accounting coursework, two years of experience, and passing the CPA Exam. Building relationships with legislators is one way you can help us advocate for change. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, this opportunity is tailored for all members regardless of company, position or years in the business.
Free for all members. Lunch is included.
